Gardens > ViolaAnn  > Garden > Hostas > Former hostas
These are hostas which used to be in my garden. Some did not perform well enough to earn their space. Others became diseased or infected with foliar nematodes. Some died and some got too large and were given away, sold or planted at my church hosta garden.

The hostas I presently have can be found at:

Name: H. 'Amie Bleue' - 2008

Description: Heart-shaped green leaves with blue undertones. Good substance.

Size: Medium-Large or Large
Origin: For a long time, I thought this hosta originated from H. 'Blue Shadows'. I now believe it to be an open-pollinated seedling of H. Great Expectations as the leaf size and shape is very similar and it flowers at the same time with a similar flower.
Flowers: White in early July
Source: my garden
Added to garden: found Spring 2005

Notes: My very own seedling. Named in honour of my granddaughter, Amy and also as a play on words of ‘Am I blue?’ It has a bluish cast, but isn't REALLY blue.

H. 'Amie Bleue' - 2010

I have mixed feelings about this one. It's getting rather large and I'm not really sure I want to devote so much garden space to it.

I divided it Autumn 2010. Some divisions were sold in my spring 2011 plant sale and the last one now lives in the hosta garden at my church.

Was moved to a new location and it didn't do any better.

This one was removed from my garden. It's not worthy of a space.
